Research analyst, journalism

The Pew Research Center has an immediate need for a Research Analyst to support its portfolio of journalism & news media research. The Research Analyst will be part of the Journalism research team, which conducts studies on news and information in a changing society. Core topics include how news is consumed, who is reporting it, and how technology is shaping the information landscape. Its goal is to help policy makers, journalists, professional communicators and the public, as well as other researchers and scholars, develop a better understanding of the revolution in the news and media landscape.
The Research Analyst supports all aspects of the research and is primarily responsible for data analysis, proof-reading and fact-checking, creating charts and tables, organizing data and performing research and analysis of original and external survey data and data from other sources, such as the Census and public APIs. Of foremost importance is ensuring that data analysis and reporting meet the highest standards of accuracy and impartiality. Ideal candidates will have strong research, analytical, quantitative and writing skills.

Facebook’s Public Policy and Privacy team is seeking a public policy manager to drive the company's engagement with the policy community in the United States around privacy issues. In this role, you'll interact with government officials, privacy advocates, trade associations, academics, and other stakeholders to share Facebook's approach to privacy and build consensus around how our society thinks about and regulates data. You'll collaborate with other members of Facebook's privacy team to draft, analyze, and provide feedback on legislative, regulatory, and self-regulatory proposals, and work to develop pragmatic public policy proposals. And you'll use your expertise in these areas to help inform how Facebook builds privacy into our products and services.
